In 2021, Red Earth Design launched a WaaS (WordPress as a service) platform to give clients an easy way to quickly customize their WordPress websites with their branding.
I created a site network with a programmatic theme that provided users with an easy way to customize their branding and content both globally and locally. All sites on the network were managed with WP Remote.
With the WaaS site network we could
- Issue plugin and theme updates to all child sites simultaneously
- Ensure users had the ability to customize their sites via custom block patterns
- Enable and disable common functionality as required
- Support the branding of organizations by allowing customized fonts and styles via a WP admin menu
The WaaS service was disabled when Red Earth Design was sold in 2021, but you can see the code on my GitHub.
